Schonell Catering & Events is owned and operated by the University of Queensland Union (UQU). We are an independent non-for-profit organisation, and any surplus funds help foster a more vibrant campus life for UQ students.

Schonell Catering & Events has provided outstanding catering and venue services to UQ staff, students and the wider Brisbane community for more than 20 years.

Our menu offers a diverse range of casual, corporate and cocktail options. Our staff have decades of combined catering expertise, and pride themselves on combining delicious cuisine with premium customer service and competitive prices.

As well as catering, we can provide services for equipment hire, staffing and security. We also offer customised events tailored to your needs.

Catering

We offer contemporary catering for meetings, morning and afternoon teas, lunches, conferences, seminars and cocktail events.

We pride ourselves on providing high quality food using only the best ingredients sourced from our local suppliers. Our menu includes vegan, vegetarian, gluten friendly, dairy free and halal-friendly options. We also cater for individual guest dietary requirements upon request.

Events

We cater for events from 10 guests including large student events to small morning teas, at any location on-campus at the University of Queensland and to off-site locations.

If you are hosting an event that needs to make an impact, we offer bespoke packages designed to suit your event needs and budget.

To make a booking

Simple bookings can be made online or please email our friendly experienced team at [email protected]. 

For all orders/enquiries please include: date of your event, number of guests, location/venue, time of service, onsite contact with mobile and any additional requirements such as equipment hire.

*UQ faculty or UQU clubs, when make a booking online please put your faculty name or club name as address. Personal addresses are not required. UQU Finance will send an invoice for the full amount owing post event. Payment can then be made via credit card or bank transfer. If you wish to arrange a purchase order, please provide the PO number prior the event.
